When I bought my 01 Sierra I requested 3.42 since I knew that I would not be towing anything with it and driving across country. Gas mileage is great and 75 is exactly 2000 rpm
80 is about 2150 - 2200. If I had planned to tow anything it would have been 3.73 all the way.
