Well the shop got a whole lot smaller.
while surfing FB Marketplace I ran across an add for C10 parts. Long story short, I ran down to southern KY this weekend and picked up about as rust-free, 67 long bed as you are going to find in this area. The cab and doors are pretty amazing. The hood and fenders have dents in them but kind of gives it character. Overall a HUGE score for Laymond. Goal now is to swap the cab and doghouse onto my short bed chassis. I hope I can find someone to match the stepside bed to the original color.
The truck is a 1967 longbed base C10 with stainless trim, a foam seat and the helper springs in the rear. It’s was a 1-owner truck until a kid a few months ago tore it down and got overwhelmed. It’s been a farm truck all it’s life, 44k miles, and been sitting in a barn for the last 30-years. It’s almost a shame to part it out but it’ll be a nice addition to the stepper. I’ve seriously thought about cutting down the longbed but I’d rather have a stepside.
