In my experience (extang revolution) they are not watertight. Maybe the solid ones seal better on the edges. The front on mine doesn t seal very good at all even with the extra foam strip they give you. My purpose though was mainly to keep the sun off the wood bed, so it works good for that use. Not worth the $500 in my opinion.
