yeah, engine and transmission seem to be the key here, my I6 got the 4.56 (not sure if you could even order the 250 with 4.10's).
I think manual trans V8's were more prone to get 4.10's and automatics got the 4.56's.......but that might be backwards

I like to be different, keep the eaton, if you have a manual trans, you can always hunt around for a 4 spd. over drive.....think they were called A833's???? should be a direct replacement on a 2wd.
