For the life of me I cannot remember taking off that short adapter or if so where it got put? I do remember taking the old switch out because the whole wire harness and fuze panel were GONE (fuzes rusted in place - amazed I could drive it).

I have the same problem about putting parts away for safe keeping. When I do that I may as well pitch them in the trash instead cause they’ll likely never be seen again either way!
