Thanks. She's gettin' a little rough around the edges. The outer rockers and one corner, of course, and the dang paint on the hood and fenders is popping off. It's a repaint that was on it and older when I bought it in '01. You'll see a little split like a scratch. Next thing the edge lifts and curls up. I have other fenders or the resto, but the hood needs to be stripped. I think I'll swap it out when I park it for winter. It'll have a fresh painted hood for the spring. Makes me want to go all the way. But just want to preserve the hood for now
4" springs in front. The rear has 2" blocks and Add-A-Leaf. I did that hoping to have a heavier duty rear suspension than lift springs. But I didn't get the 2" out of the Add-A-Leafs. So... would like to do new 4" rear springs. Those are 285/75-16s on 8" Wheel Vintiques skid loader wheels
. That's what my friend and I call them.
EDIT: I can show a few varieties with that truck since it's had several wheel/tire combos on it and now 4" lift. It was going to get a 6" lift with 37/12.50-16.5 Super Swamper SSRs (1t axles/TH400) on 8.25 steelies but I decided to stay original and more subtle.
The last picture shows it with 33/12.50-16.5s & 8.25 wheels. The orig. front springs were seriously negative with maybe 1" to snubbers. On the back it had air shocks that I never touched till the lift. GMCs have that little spacer, less than an inch, and the P.O. added a solid block of steel 1". So it had a rake (hated it!). Kinda looked like a pull truck
The third it has the lift with 255/85-16s on 7" Accurides
Loaded up!
