Here's the scoop..

The factory ammeter measures the voltage drop across the wire used to charge the battery. Next to the battery mounted on the fender is a terminal post where the red wire from the battery along with another red wire that runs along the core support and a little black wire. The black wire goes to one side of the ammeter. This wire has an inline fuse, need to check that. As you follow the red wire along the core support it will come to another junction, One wire I believe goes to the regulator on the core support, another goes to the alternator and finnaly a third black wire goes to the other side of the ammeter. This is also fused. Need to check that. Mine was tucked up near the wiper fluid bottle. Hope this helps.......

1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed.

1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm
