Hey vintage,

I did have to adjust the float. Make sure that your float is extended to the furthest part of the accuator rod. There was a plastic tray in the bottom of my tank. I notched that tray so that the float would fully extend to the bottom of the tank in order to get the gauge to ready correctly when empty. The only way it wont read correct when full is if the float isnt pushed to the end of the rod or if the rod itself is getting stuck, maybe on the tray. Hope this helps.
