I was working on my door panels this weekend and I had heard of the wrapping a shop rag around the shaft area like franken said. I gave it a shot just to see how well it works. It works super easy, not really sure how it does it but the clip came right off. I still like using my little spring hook. It does look like picking one of those clip removers for 6 bucks is also another cheap and easy option
