When my first GMC model went together 15 years ago it had black wheels and kit hubcaps:
Within a few weeks it was wearing 5 spoke mags and slicks:
I got tired of all three models wearing the same wheels and tires, and coincidentally needed the mags and slicks for a new gasser model I’m building. So I recently decided it was time to switch back to factory rims. I was going to install another set of black wheels, but since I had the original ivory colored rims from the 1961 truck, I used those instead along with a new set of 57 Chevy passenger car hubcaps:
The wheel color doesn’t match the grille/bumper, so I may repaint everything the same color down the road. The bedroom lighting didn’t help much either, but overall I really like the change.
