Re: 1948 Suburban - finishing what dad started...

So it's been a while, but we did the Suburban back from paint a week or two ago. While there the painter replaced the wood floor with new 3/4" treated wood, tucked the front bumper, and some other misc. changes. We got the truck back in 'dad's shop' and will start some final assembly we make some time in our schedules. Plus, we need to clear the cobwebs on what we need to do.

To recap, the frame is about 90% complete with paint done, lines ran, tank mounted, and suspension complete. We need to check seals on the rear end, and go through the brakes yet. Maybe clean up some overspray, dirt. Inside we need rerun wiring, remount AC/Heater, install controls, insulation, and then finish it out. Last we talked I think a lot of metal will be exposed keeping the overall design simple inside. Motor and trans will be checked, painted, and then dropped in. Hopefully we'll get moving again soon.
