I don't usually chime in on this forum aside from Q's, but what the hey....
The '88 1-Ton dump was bought from the original owner in town by my dad. It was restored over the course of 8-10+/- years (seems like it took forever) and was intended to be used for his stump grinding biz. When I got my license in Aug of 2011, I needed a truck so this became mine. Has been my first and only daily year round driver until this summer when I added a 1977 GMC K25 to the fleet. The '77 has now become the new summer driver.
Running a business in antique tractor repair, both have done their time moving lot of old garden tractors and equipment. Wouldn't trade a square for nothing else! Hard working trucks, simple, parts are plentiful and for me they are comfortable.
Life's too short to drive a boring truck... last thing I worry about is mileage when I'm grinnin' ear to ear hauling tractors!
