I'd save about $2000. That way you have plenty to work with. Believe me you won't regret it. Bout the cheapest you could do a bone stock rebuild would be $1200 around here. And with $800 more on hand you'd have some play room....like zero decking the block for more compression....shaving the heads....or getting a new cam with some more lift....and yes...Balancing everywhere. I'd also look into headers and an hei. 327's are great engines. Run high quality oil and it'll last you a long time if you can keep your foot out of it. lol
