Re: 69 4x4

welcome Dave.. i'm gonna move this to the 4x4 section...

If you look at my 68 K-10 build you will see that I stuck an 82 corp 10 bolt under my 68.. yes it bolts up but there are other changes that need made.

1. did your 69 have closed knuckles or open (does it look like a ball and socket joint where the wheel turns on the axle? You should be able to link your steering right up. If it's an open knuckle axle then you can also swap all the parts from the spindle and out so that you don't have to unbolt your axle.

2. More than likely your calipers will have metric banjo bolts, you will need new brake hoses unless you got those from the donor, expect to buy some adapters along the way..

3. Did you get a front sway bar from the donor? You can make a mount for it if so

4. Is it a 3" axle tube? If so then pull the top spring plates from the donor and get new u-bolts to fit. Your old axle was more than likely 2.75"

5. Are the gears the same? I hope so, if not keep searching for a matched set to go with your rear...
