You didn't box the parts up once deal was made? When it's money for payment you wait to get the funds before sending. But with a straight up trade you both send once the deal is made, right? If you got your parts he should have his. Normally surgery is a personal matter and no one's business, but there must be details here since you offered that up as your excuse.
