The picture below is of my 69 just like the factory did it. The 12 gauge red wire from the junction block on the fender and across the top of the core support is the 12V hot wire for the camper wiring harness. So, you probably don't have that. The 71s and 72s used a side post battery with the positive toward the center. I think that's the only difference.

Not sure what ground you are referring to.

Ignore the yellow goo in the fender cup. That's some anti-rust stuff the body shop put in there.
