Back in the early '70s one of my friends had a '62 Grand Prix with tri-power that he was tuning. He had had his hair styled and hair spray applied. The girls loved it, but when he cranked the throttle that center carb backfired and set his hair on fire. I yelled that his hair was on fire but he didn't believe me. I could even hear it sizzle, what with the lacquer or whatever it is they used in the hair spray! I threw a (dry) rag at him and put it out.
He had to go get it styled again. I never did that hair style stuff. That was a lot of money that was better spent elsewhere.
