I would love to sell my Dmax and build a daily driver like such with a P-pumped 24v with a 6spd handshaker, but I dont have the time and these newer diesels move pretty well stock and with a plug in can move even better for a 7500lb vehicle.
I wanted something different for this rig. My other chevy will have a P-pumped 24v and a 5 speed with a DD. I already have a VE 12v and a P-pump 12v in drivers. Plus I've always wanted to do a VE 24v. It should make for a killer mileage engine hopefully.

Now you are down to the stuff that seems like you never accomplish anything because it is all smalll and no real visual progress or at least that is the way mine seemed. Course I just had a P[-pumped 12 valve
Yes I had to because of the return line banjo bolt in the back of the head. I don't want to have to pull the engine to fix the line if it ever leaks or what ever. Plus the #6 Injection Line is super close to the fire wall.

If I start with a rough casting piece, I use a corps disc scotch brite pad, red medium grit on a die grinder. I smooth up the surface best I can. Then I sand it starting with 180 grit. Then 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1000, and then 1200. I then use a polishing wheel with aluminum polish and buff it up. On these parts I only had 220, 400, and then ultra fine gray scotch brite pad. I will go back over these parts with finer sand paper and re polish it later. The valve cover is going to be a real PITA!
