You've got to cool the air down enough to condense the water vapor into a liquid before it can be caught in a water trap. I used a cheap dorm fridge with a copper coil in a 5 gallon bucket to cool the air down, then a normal trap on the outlet. No moisture problems since.

Extra length in the lines and placing the trap farther away from the tank might work ok in the winter, but when it's 90+ in the shop and the lines get heat soaked you're not dropping enough temperature to cool the air by extra line alone. A refrigerated system is necessary in the summer.
