That is a fair point - many of us thus far have installed big wheels with the stock braking system on our trucks, myself included. My wheels are chromed cast iron, even heavier than steelies. I've had to come to complete stops quickly without too much issues, but still your right, not as safe as a brake upgrade.

The same risk is involved with any big wheel upgrade.
