They are such good engines I was never inside of one I almost bought one with 300K on it and it ran like a swiss watch..........Owner couldn't give me a price so I said forget it. I believe, and don't hold me to it, because I am not 100% sure, that they are sleeveless and are run in the block. And if they are sleeved, they are dry sleeve.........But I am fairly sure that are sleeveless and pistons run in the block.

Only small Cummins I get to play with is mine. Most of the other small Diesels are IH, Case(Pre CDC), Perkins. Being around large Cat, Detroits, and Cummins the most. I am not a diesel expert by any stretch of the imagination, just a stupid farmer who was brought up smelling Diesel smoke, Maybe that is what effected my memory
