I would buy brand name U.S.-made parts like TRW, Sealed Power, Federal Mogul, Mellings, and Fel-Pro. Summit Racing sells good rebuild kits with name brand parts. You might also check with Scoggin Dickey at SDPC2000.com. I've seen inexpensive kits by EngineTech, but I fear the parts may be made in Taiwan or China.

If you're a beginner, get a good book like "How to Rebuild Your Small Block Chevy" by David Vizard. It's $12.00 at Amazon.com.

Remember the parts that wear the most in a 327 are valve guides and cam lobes, so DO buy a new cam and lifters and have a machine shop look at your heads. Do not have the valve guides reamed -- have them replaced or buy rebuilt heads.

1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.
