Since we've all heard the old story that the engine in the used vehicle has been rebuilt recently, I decided to do a bit of a teardown of the LT1. Here's what I found when I popped the valve covers off:



Looks like for once the PO was telling the truth. Score!
I decided since the top end looked so good, I would only tear the engine down to a long block and freshen it up with some new gaskets and a coat of paint:





Now the fun can begin! Time to rip the heart out of my truck!
