I am looking to replace the stock exhaust on my 1968 GMC short bed stepside that has an in-line 250 motor. Is there a company that makes the entire exhaust system as a package? I know LMC has a kit but I've heard they are not the easy bolt on kit they say it is. I know if a couple of local shops that can make it but one wants $450 and the other one is booked until end of August. Thanks for you help!
Given the LMC kit is $180-$190 for the L6....any muffler shop is going to want around $250 labor + materials so yeah $450 is about what it would cost. However, any exhaust shop made exhaust would not be mandrel bent like a kit would be

IMHO if you can turn a wrench for $180 the LMC would be a straightforward install. The clamps and straps pictured mirror what mine look like

Like any old exhaust clamps/bolts use penetrating oil on them a few times before removal.

IDK if the LMC kit includes a new donut gasket, but they are cheap so replace that also
