I had some regular play sand in a bucket and gave it a whirl a few months ago. The sand had some moisture and it would not pick up/pulled thru the tube.

Fast forward til now. I was cleaning up around the shop and the bucket of sand was in the corner. It had dried completely.

I gave the blaster a whirl.

It worked way better than I expected. I cleaned a sort of large cast iron bell.

The drawback is that in reality it is a two man job. One person to run the wand and another person to keep the sand pickup in the sand. It needs to be moved and re-positioned often.

Overall, not a bad way to drop $20.
