Scrappers don't care. Its just another $100 bucks to them They busted an illegal car scrapping ring ten or so years ago here. These $%&#%$@%$-'"*-'s concentrated on easy to steal vehicles. (Like 60's & 70's vehicles) Their thiefs would steal a car and drive it directly in to the crusher. In less than 30 minutes a car would be gone forever. They finally got busted when a they heisted a guys 64 Galaxy from his drive way in broad daylight and he saw them. He called 911 and by chance a officer heard the call and 5 minutes later saw the Galaxy drive through the wrecking yard entrance. He flipped his lights on and followed it in. He found the car in the crusher but not crushed. They impounded all the equipment in the yard (most of it is still in the impound yard today). It was estimated over several years they crushed over a million dollars in cars illegally. Thats a million dollars at scrap price.
