I'm not sure about parts stores any more. I went to Advance Auto Monday for a set of front brake shoes for a 70 GMC and the computer listed a number for PADS!

I thought the only difference was the nose cone on the starters. Auto vs manual and 153 tooth vs 168 for the autos. I6 or any V8 could use the same starter as long as the flywheel teeth were the same.
