I like the looks of yours.
What came with mine was the oak boards but it had a clear coat of some kind that after sitting outside off and on has lost it's finish on the edges, bolt holes etc.
It spends most of the time in the shop .
If I take it out to refinish it I think I will go the black route.
When the oak had the fresh clear on it I would get alot of compliments.
One time I came out of a store and a guy was standing there and said that the bed wood looked better then his kitchen floor.
If it could stay that way would be nice but I think the rain and even just the sunlight breaks down the clear coat.

It was unfinished,i say beautiful out of the box because it didnt need any sanding or any mods to it at all! I used 3 coats of min wax ebony stain let dry for a day then rubbed in 3 coats of boiled linseed oil on all sides.if you use any boiled linseed oil do not leave the rags balled up when done they will start fire!! Thank for the like, i was going darker with it, but really liked the contrast against the black body, plus you really see the grain.
