I got out of class early tonight and spent about five minutes on it and got it running. The first thing I noticed was that the plug wires were backwards. I don't think it was allowing the coil terminal to contact in the boot since the spark plug boot is a little deeper than the distributor boot. Once I turned them around she fired right up. I do think the distributor is off one cog of the gear. I don't quite have the adjustability I want for timing, the cap hold-down screw makes contact with the block so I can't turn the distributor enough. If I move it over one cog I should have it just right.
