For what it is worth a 307 is an over square engine, 3.875 bore x 3.25 stroke.
a 307 is basically a factory built 283 stroker.
My brothers and I had alot of fun "racing" a built 307 we put in a 62 Chevy II.
A much better engine than the tiny piston, tiny valve and 350 stroke = 305 smog motor
