I was designing a piece of equipment that would absorb the radio frequency energy from a transmitter, many years ago. I got all the parts lined up, and then flipped them around to check the model for clearances, and sent the drawing to manufacturing. All the parts came back, and it didn't go together, because I had flipped the model around. Luckily, I was able to use a few parts off the shelf to make my design work. About $1000, which is chump-change in the defense biz. Pretty embarrassing, anyway. Magic fingers can still miss the target.
