The rear springs are pretty simple to put in, but if yours have never been removed, you will most likely have rusty bolts to deal with. I added shock mounts and an adjustable track bar, but it's really not neccesary for 4" drop springs. I just wanted to be able to go lower if I wanted without having to go back and change that stuff later. I used dropped spindles in the front with stock springs, and it was a big job, but pretty straight-forward.
My front wheels are 17x8 with a 5" backspace, and my rears are 17x9.5 with a 5.5" backspace, but if I had my choice, I would go with a 5" back space with a 9" or 9.5" wheel on the rear. I have the wider ('71-'72 style) rearend, and the inside of my tires is very close to rubbing my wheel tubs.
