I am trying to get the shifter on the top to be horizontal. I have set it up in neutral and hook it up as shop manual (and as suggest here in your advise) but when t it all hook up the shifter is not horizontal but higher .

see the shifter is higher and the connecting bolt is to the left and should be straight down up an
