I feel your pain. More of a mindset than a problem and I know 'cause I used to be the same way Scoti. Seems though that I am now semi-retired a "good enough" approach seems to work pretty good a lot of the time (but not always).

The old adage about know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em kind of applies.

I had to replace a battery last week on my "custom" driveway gate opener. Originally, 7 years ago, I used a red top Optima battery.... I replaced it with a $50 battery I bought at Sears for $30 after dealin' with the department manager. Good Enough!
