I use Hammerite Rust Cap. It is extremely hard when cured and is UV proof. It was designed for outdoor rod iron fences and steel yard furnature so it has proven itself for many years. I have had it on a frame that has sat outside in the weather for almost 4 years and it looks great still. You can buy it at your local hardware store also. It cost about $11.00 a pint here. WES
