Possible but I don't believe so. At least not for a BBC. The studs you're referring to are 3/8" on both sides for BBC, and the nuts aren't flared. Not on mine anyway. The exhaust manifold studs on my 402 were placed into the front bolt hole of each manifold. One for A/C, the other for the upper power steering bracket.....................Could be variances, and I can't speak for SBC. Can't speak for a heat shield either. Spark plug?


Edit, I might be wrong about 3/8 both sides........Pending.....Edit again, confirmed, 3/8" both sides. Another clue, the stud in post 113 was not on the exhaust manifold.
