In the picture with the notch mock up,,,

Did you level the frame then measure up 1.5" in the back and then keep that line level moving toward the front of the frame?

I have been doing this step in my mind for months and it was always the way I thought it would work.

The other was to level frame, set the cross member up to the bottom of the frame and take a incline reading on the cross member. Then cut the notch to match the incline (if any)
