Re: Grizz's Redneck Express 1966 Chevy Short Fleetside RESTO-GO!

Reversed off a raised verge outside my house a few weeks ago, when working on the Chevy speaker holes and managed to tear the bottom bumper lip that had been bodged together, including cable ties, before my time, off somewhat.

Been wanting to bodge it together ever since, and had a plan, just not been able to get to it.

The weekend when I discovered the welding bench in a skip at a panel shop, I was looking for a random bumper to cut up and repair and camouflage the damage. However, they did not want to give me a bent bumper, this evening on the way home, I had to fill my car and went to a different shop, they gave me a bumper off a Toyota Aygo as well as a Mk1 Mini tailgate in good condition which may become a small bench or wall hanging.

Measured up the bumper, marked out some lines and cut.

And with Mitsubishi turbo truck air scoop.

Needs to be fine tuned, and then self tappers from below.

Followed by painting the lip black. Needs something else to cover th original lip break.

Decided to reassemble after cleaning the gun.

Pellets and barrel seal,landed today.

Have shot with it in the dark tonight, packs a decent punch still.

Over in St Louis, Dennis continues to build his gas station.

Roofing going on, he is laying the front deck flooring in thick oak.

This week he also managed to find and buy this old station gun.

Still needs loads of stuff to make it an authentic vintage gas station.

Later.

Bedtime now.
