You could remove that ring a clean everything up
Then put it back and see if it works.
That's the vent they used back then.
I had the same type on some of my trucks.
Make sure it is clear (so it can vent).

Awesome thank you. Yeah I had never seen one like I before so I wasn’t sure if it was stock or not. I’ll give it a good once over and throw it back together. The sender itself looks to be in pretty good shape, so hopefully once everything’s cleaned up it’ll work!!
