The drop spindle itself wouldn't be the issue unless the backspacing is more than 4.25", then the inside edge would interfere with the lower control arm. The issue would be caliper clearance. Depending on when(and by who) the wheels were made, they may not have the inside clearance for the calipers. Most likely it won't be a problem, but worth looking into.
FWIW, I can't imagine driving a truck with 4 wheel drums anymore. I've had disc brakes on my 68 since 1 year after I bought it(20 year ago). I drove a friend's 67 a few weeks ago and was appalled at how bad the braking was with the stock drum brakes!!

My bad, I went straight to assuming you had a 73-87 so I retract my statement. I agree on the brakes, four wheel drum is not the way to be!
