Re: Do you have a 1972 Plaid Pickup?
The original owner just turned 96, his son filled me in on the history of the truck. The truck was on the showroom floor at Ande Chevrolet in Lawernceburg, Indiana. The dealer had Cincinnati Bengal Tiger Stripe decals on the sides installed. The Father bought it the next day and had them change out the chrome bumpers for the rear step and the painted front. Steering wheel was just replaced but he saved the old one, as well as the rocker guards. Carpet is like new. No radio in the truck (radio delete)? The dealer installed that one. He grew tired of the stripes and peeled them off. The white paint is original with very little touch up. Hope I'm not boring you guys, I think the history is pretty cool when you can find it on these old trucks. I'm putting another 72 Highlander together and this one gives me an exact blueprint. Thanks for all the good comments. The owners son is a disabled war vet and he will appreciate this.
