The frame wasn't touching the ground, the full weight of that corner of the truck was on me. The neighbors babysitter heard me yelling and got my fiance, Emily, out of the house. She jacked it up enough for me to get out. Things could've been alot worse, and I'm very very lucky to have walked away from that. I've got lots of pulled muscles and bruises, and some pinched nerves, but nothing permanent or broken. Keep in mind everyone, you never think it'll happen to you, but it can. Always take a minute to think about what you're doing when you get under a car. We all do it so often, we tend to forget just how dangerous it really is. Have fun, and be safe!
I just read this.
You're a lucky lucky boy.
Two neighbors died from that kind of accident when I was a kid. One of them was a friend's teenage brother. We found him under the Charger he was working on and he was obviously gone. The other guy was old enough to know better... working on a lifted dump bed without cribbing that fell on him. That kinda stuff stays with you.
I'm exceedingly careful around stuff that's lifted off the tires and stuff that could fall on me. Jack stands, chocks, cribbing, etc.
