I used my old original back window (since it was in great condition) a precision gasket and original stainless surround that I sanded with 1200 grit sandpaper and polished with a table top buff wheel. The 1200 really cleaned up the scratches and stains and it looked great without polishing, but I polished them with a table top buffing wheel anyway.
