Several reasons why I did not go with Hooker; The hooker pipes are 4" dia. and with them hanging low on the side I did not want to add any more clearance issues. The Patriot side pipes are 3.5" an would give a bit more clearance given that it is a long wheel base and going into driveways and parking lot I did not want to high center. Since this is a daily driver it was more of an issue than if it was a weekend toy. Second is the price, Patriot was quite a bit less than the hooker pipes. From what I could tell there was not much difference between the two other than the Hooker glass pack could be removed and replaced when the glass was blown out or for racing. The Patriot pipes have a single tack weld holding the glass pack in place so if I needed to remove the muffler I could with out much trouble. Third was the length, maybe they do sell them longer but the longest I found the Hooker product in 65" length and I needed 73" and Patriot had them that long. SWB trucks might have an easier time with the shorter length pipes.
