I honestly don't know if you have to keep the electrical gauges for the computer that exists in these trucks. you could always keep both by using a brass T fitting for the oil pressure. I would imagine the water temp could also, but it would be a bigger T style. I believe the fitting that snapped on you was your water temp. There probably is a similar spot on the other head where you could remove the plug and put in your mechanical temp prob.
