Screens are a great Idea. Think I'll be fabing one of those.
Once a year, I open the kick panel vents and cram a garden hose in the cowl to flush it out thoroughly. I also douche out the cab corners, rocker panels and the doors (Yes, this makes the interior wet). Let the water run 'till it runs clear. You might be amazed how much crap comes out, then let it set out and dry in the sun.
I flush out all four fenders several times a year.
