Re: I picked up a nice used steve schimdt 565 big block saturday.

Would you race it "as-is" or disassemble it and freshen/inspect it first? Might save a lot of money in the long run. My neighbor has a NICE black '68 Nova, 540 Merlin, glide, T. brake, 4 link Dana 60. Its licensed and marginally streetable. Best so far of 9.97@143 on drag radials. Launches pretty good on a well prepared track but a month or so ago he had it out on a lonesome street and it got away when he shifted. Went WAY off the road and backed lightly into a pole. Light damage but still $$$.
