Great question.
I think it is personal preference.
With 5 lug you will have A lot more wheel options.
My choice of 5 or 6 lug would be 5 lug.
Around 1970 they started 5 lug option for chevy trucks.
If you are not going to use and abuse this truck ,
5 lug would be my choice .
Go with 8 lug if you want Heavy Duty.
