On a spring drop only (front), you should stay with no more that 2" to keep geometry right on. There are guys running 3 " drop springs on the front, or cut coils(mine) & I beleive I have seen 4" springs listed......the spindle is the better way to go If you do a 2 1/2" spindle, you can add up to a 2" spring & have a really nice drop without alignment problems.
