Thanks for the replies. To clear things up, it is not pcm controlled. Only a exciter wire and output. I used the original alternator from the 2007 gmc truck, and revamped it with the regulator from the site that was recommended here. It failed a couple of weeks ago so I went with the 2004 Silverado alternator we were trying to mimic for longevity. Just trying to do my best and upgrade it as close as possible. I installed the light socket that was recommended but wanted something more technical. That is why I wanted to wire in the Echlin ec82 harness. Hope this makes some sense. Thanks. tbrown
